Τα franchises κυριάρχησαν στην κινηματογραφική βιομηχανία το 2013

Πολυαναμενόμενα sequels, δυνατά brand names, "μεγάλες" ταινίες που κατέληξαν αρχές της χρονιάς λόγω προβλημάτων παραγωγής (Great Gatsby, World War Z), αλλά και εγχώρια hits (ανάλογα με την χώρα), αποτέλεσαν τα φιλμ που κυριάρχησαν στα διεθνή box office για το 2013. Tαινίες όπως το δεύτερο Hunger Games ή το τρίτο Iron Man ή ακόμα και το Fast & Furious 6 (με την ισχυρότατη fan base), αλλά και η συνέχεια του Despicable Me  δεν άφησαν περιθώρια να αμφισβητηθούν οι πρωτιές στις περισσότερες από τις 11 "μεγάλες" (βάσει πληθυσμού) χώρες.

Παραδόξως, δεν υπάρχουν πουθενά τα 12 years a slave & Gravity (αν και η αλήθεια είναι ότι βγήκαν κάπως αργά), ενώ το The conjuring ήταν με διαφορά η πιο δημοφιλής ταινία τρόμου. Με την υποσημείωση ότι η Ινδία έχει την δική κινηματογραφική βιομηχανία που κάνει θραύση (Bollywood) και η Κίνα τις δικές της ιδιομορφίες, ιδού οι δημοφιλέστερες ταινίες για τις ακόλουθες 11 χώρες.
