Berlinale 14: "20.000 days on earth"

‘Μαυρίλα’ βγαλμένη από τα βάθη του Νικ Κέιβ

Οι Iain Forsyth και Jane Pollard σκηνοθετούν την 20,000η μέρα του Νικ Κέιβ στον πλανήτη γή, σε ένα ψευδοντοκυμανταίρ για την ψυχοσύνθεση του μεγάλου καλλιτέχνη, στην ταινία ’20,000 days on earth’ που παρουσιάστηκε στη φετινή Μπερλινάλε και παρουσιάζει πτυχές της ζωής του, την περίοδο που ηχογραφούσε το τελευταίο album των Bad Seeds με τίτλο ‘Push the sky away’ που κυκλοφόρησε περυσι.

Στην ταινία, ο Νίκ Κέιβ και ο Γουόρεν Έλις συζητούν πινοντας τσάι και τρώγοντας και θυμούνται τη Nina Simone να κολλάει την τσίχλα της στο πιάνο στο άνοιγμα της συναυλίας της και να δίνει ρέστα εντυπωσιάζοντας τόσο το κοινό όσο και τους ίδιους και νοιώθουν δέος. Ο Κέιβ παίζει στο πιάνο Λάιονελ Ρίτσι και συζητά με τον ψυχαναλυτή του –τον οποίο υποδύεται ο γνωστός Βρετανός συγγραφέας Darian Leader- για τους σημαντικότερους σταθμούς της ζωής του. Για τους ‘Birthday Party’, για τα ναρκωτικά, για το Λονδίνο, το Βερολίνο, το σεξ. Μιλά για το θάνατο του πατέρα του και λυγίζει. Ο μεγαλύτερος φόβος του είναι η έλλειψη μνήμης.

Σε ένα αμάξι – εξομολογητήριο συναντά τον πρωταγωνιστή της ταινίας ‘The preposition’ που έγραψε το σενάριο αλλά και του βίντεο κλιπ του κομματιού ‘The Jubilee street’ Ray Winstone, τον πρώην κιθαρίστα των The Bad Seeds και μέλος των Einstürzende Neubauten Blixa Bargeld, αλλά και την Kylie Minogue. «Ήμουν πάντα ένα είδος επιδεικτικού μπάσταρδου» θα πει, μιλώντας για τον εαυτό του. Ένα εξαιρετικό ψευδοντοκυμανταίρ για την περσόνα του τεράστιου Αυστραλού περφόρμερ, στο οποίο οι σκηνοθέτες έκαναν την υπέρβαση, δημιουργώντας ένα κάθε άλλο παρά συμβατικό μουσικό biopic, με εξαιρετικό μοντάζ και αρκετή ‘μαυρίλα’, βγαλμένη από τα βάθη της ψυχής του ενίοτε dark Cave. Με την ευχή να το δούμε και εδώ, πιθανότατα στις επόμενες Νύχτες Πρεμιέρας.

20,000 days on earth: ‘Black’ like Nick Cave’s inner soul

Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard are directing Nick Cave’s 20,000th day on planet earth , a pseudo-documentary for the temperament of the great artist in the film '20, 000 days on earth ' that was shown at this year's Berlinale, to present aspects of his life , during the time when he was recording Bad Seeds’ latest album entitled 'Push the sky away' which was released last year. In the film, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis discuss while drinking tea and eating and remember Nina Simone sticking a gum on the piano at the opening of her concert and ... shocking both the public and themselves and feel awe . Cave plays Lionel Richie on the piano and discusses with his therapist - which is portrayted by the famous British author Darian Leader- about his life’s most important stations. About 'Birthday Party', drugs , London, Berlin , sex . He talks about his father's death and bends .

His biggest fear is lack of memory . In a ‘confessional ‘ car, Cave meets the protagonist of the film 'The preposition' that he wrote the script about and as well as protagonist of the video clip of the song 'The Jubilee street' Ray Winstone, former guitarist of The Bad Seeds and member of Einstürzende Neubauten Blixa Bargeld, and the Kylie Minogue. "I was always a kind of ostentatious bastard" he says, speaking for himself . An excellent pseudo-documentary about the persona of the ‘huge’ Australian performer , in which the filmmakers did overcome , creating a far from conventional musical documentaries , with excellent editing and a lot of ' blackness ' , mined from the depths of his always dark soul-ed Cave.
